Classics' music games have attracted some glowing reviews in
the national media. Here are some of the highlights:

… A little game I could not resist: Alice in Vivaldi's Four
Seasons. As a big fan of both "Alice in Wonderland" and
Vivaldi, I was intrigued by
their merger.
The premise of Seasons is that Alice is trapped in a music clock
and must play through various music games to win the 60 minutes
necessary to repair the clock. In one puzzle, four musicians are
playing two different Vivaldi songs and you must divide them into
the proper duos. In another you must determine which instruments
are being played in a quartet.
My favorite game involved listening to a Vivaldi piece and then
selecting the matching melody from a collection of oddly arranged
Vivaldi tunes. The alternate arrangements are wonderfully diverse
and include one played on the sitar and another done boogie-woogie
style.
It is obvious from the imagination and care put into these altered
arrangements and the other puzzles that Seasons was created by people
with a deep understanding and appreciation of music. The game feels
less like children's edutainment than like the work of musical evangelists
who consider music a powerful, life-changing force. They want the
player to understand and savor music, and will even award players
points needed to win the game just for listening to five minutes
of a concerto.

Mind-bending music games! This is a wonderful, fun exercise! The
musical quality in the puzzles is a pleasure to listen to. The program
uses technology to introduce subjects outside of regular school
curriculum.

Children play 12 music games with the whimsical characters of Lewis
Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland while being cocooned
in the exciting music of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons.
A brilliant title!

Lay a little music culture on the kids!

Software of the Year Award.
Exquisite, storybook style animation and superb sound quality
hook players and enliven the experience. You gotta love a CD-ROM
that casts children in the role of a famous composer, slips opera
into ingenious audio puzzles, and delights eyes and ears. As young
Wolfie Mozart, kids set out to free a prince and princess from the
evil queen’s castle through musical prowess – finding
instruments, decoding mixed-up music, and picking up tidbits of
opera trivia along the way. Gorgeous, watercolor-washed scenes and
stellar sound quality make parental participation a joy (something
not found often enough).

San Jose Mercury News. Best Pick for the Holidays
The games masterfully teach children about musical instruments,
musical sound and musical Composition. Children are cocooned in
the dramatic music of Vivaldi, and entertained with cleverly constructed
music games. Brilliantly conceived and radiantly executed!

Wow! A unique introduction to music!
“Maestro a terrible night has begun! The Queen of the Night
has stolen the Sun. Your music will break the Queen’s wicked
spell and once again the world will be well.” Players are
challenged to solve musical puzzles to reach the castle of the evil
Queen of the Night and bring daylight back to the world in this
engaging and imaginative program. Mozart's Magic Flute The Music
Game is a great supplement for a musically inclined child or the
serious music student. Adults and children with little or no musical
background will be surprised at the challenge of stopping to truly
listen to a piece of classical music, dissect it, and put it back
together again. The program's publisher dubs the games “musical
jigsaw puzzles,” and they truly are puzzles to piece together
using your ears rather than your eyes. The Magic Flute teaches not
only musical skills, but also history. When the player collects
a feather on the quest path, a narrated slide show with an anecdote
about Mozart's life appears. The program also simplifies the plot
of this complex and confusing opera so that even the youngest players
will develop a greater understanding of the story and genre. The
quest or challenge premise of The Magic Flute is appealing to older
children. Kids liked winning the individual games and collecting
rewards to place in their “magic bags.”
This is a fun and very unique program to add to your child’s
library of educational software.
Children’s Software Press.
Taking two of the world’s best loved classics, one literary
and one musical, they have blended these diverse art forms, added
a dash of their own unique drawings, and come up with a cutting-edge
entertainment software title that is creative, interactive, educational,
and simply enchanting! Your guide, on this truly magical musical
journey, is none other than the Cheshire Cat, with his cheek-to-cheek
grin and endless rhymes crafted to prepare and assist players throughout
each game. Twelve games, twelve puzzles and the twelve "months"
that make up Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, never seemed well…
so short or sounded so good! There’s no need to purposely
lose a game so as to "let the music play on," because
there are multiple levels of play for every game, enough to keep
children interested and entertained for a long time.
The game scenes are beautifully illustrated and the Cheshire Cat
seems to never run out of poetic feline phrases and musings that
are delivered to the beat of the casual wave of his tail. Players
will find that five minutes is enough time to try and get the required
300 points for
each game as having a reset button and multiple ways to try the
music facilitates game play. With Vivaldi’s biography and
an animated instruments’ encyclopedia as part of the program,
this software would be right at home in any school music department.
Alice in Vivaldi’s Four Seasons: The Music Game is a children’s
software program where
critical thinking skills meet the classics, problem-solving meets
poetry, music appreciation meets magic and creativity meets quality,
computer-based, musical education. It's not just another "Name
that Tune" or rip off of the old Simon game where you have
to identify the tune in four notes or play it back note for note.
This software takes the whole music appreciation genre for kids
to new heights. Bravo!

I was absolutely delighted by this software and cannot think of
a better way to teach music appreciation to young learners! The
animated graphics are colorful and lively and are sure to please
children of all ages. The major strength of this program is the
rich content presented in
an interactive game format.
Every music teacher should have a copy of all of the offerings
in this series. At the present time, three programs are available:
Mozart's Magic Flute, Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, and Alice
in
Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
Overall, the software is creative, artistic, and captivating.
What a wonderful way to present the works of famous com¬posers!
Every elementary school should make this software an integral part
of its music program. Outstanding!

The Lion and Lamb Foundation, Top 20 Toys.
This game has a calming quality, unlike the frenetic energy of
many video and computer games. The graphics are as lush and beautiful
as the music, performed by the Moscow Ensemble of Contemporary Music.
A unique computer game for music lovers of all ages.

This is truly a terrific music program for everyone! I was very
impressed with the sound quality and the ability to combine instrumental
sounds so students could identify what instrument(s) made the music.
The only thing that would make this product better is if a live
production of
The Magic Flute was included in the package.
Children's Software Press, Platinum.
If only music appreciation had been more like this when I was
in school!
I can't imagine a better way to introduce a child to this classical
treasure!
